Bird Watching in Kithulgala

We started the journey from Kithulgala town at 08.00a.m. It was not the proper time to see birds. This  was because we came to Kithulgala from Colombo. We started from Colombo around 04.30a.m. We propose you to be there in Kithulgala on the previous day as it is more convenient for you to start the bird watching early the morning around 05.30a.m.

We crossed the Kelani river by a boat called "Habal Oruwa" and came to the other part of the river.

We passed a small village on our way to the forest and there we were lucky to see an elephant which was brought to carry wood.

There is a small path to the forest. On your way we found the boards which you can get directions.

There is a deck where you can see birds in the paddy field and surrounding area.

This was a half day visit. It is better to go there in the morning around 06.00a.m.
